November 30, 2020 – Last day to pay 2020 property taxes if you want to keep your name from appearing in a newspaper advertisement that will run for two (2) consecutive weeks. State Law requires the County Treasurer to run this ad prior to the Show Cause Hearing in Circuit Court which is part of the Foreclosure process.
December 29, 2020 – Last day the Hillsdale County Treasurer will accept a partial payment on a delinquent 2020 property tax.
December 29, 2020 – Last day the Hillsdale County Treasurer will accept a personal check or business check for payment on a 2020 property tax. Starting January 3, 2023, we will only accept cash, cashier’s check, money orders and credit cards (3% convenience fee applies) for payment on 2020 delinquent property taxes.
I encourage you to pay your 2020 property taxes immediately. We are in the final stages of the Property Tax Foreclosure Law for 2020 delinquent taxes. It would be a big mistake to lose a valuable piece of property due to unpaid taxes. Please call our office (517-437-4700) if you have questions about this process.
